Privacy Policy

Routebook is operated by [LEGAL_NAME], [REGISTERED_ADDRESS] (“Routebook”, “we”, “us”). This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use the app, why, and what you can do about it. If you have questions, write to [CONTACT_EMAIL].
What we collect
- Account data. Email address and authentication state, handled by our database provider, Supabase. We use passwordless sign-in (magic links) — we never see or store a password.
- Trip data. The trips, stops, vehicles, and budget entries you create. This is the data the product exists to hold, and it’s yours — see “Your rights” below.
- Collaboration data. If you invite someone to a trip, we store their email address and the invite’s status until it’s accepted or expires.
- Usage analytics. Vercel Web Analytics, which is cookieless and doesn’t track you across sites or build an individual profile — it reports aggregate page views and Core Web Vitals.
Who else sees it
We don’t sell data, and we don’t share it beyond what’s needed to run the app:
- Supabase — hosts our database and handles authentication.
- Mapbox — powers maps, geocoding, and driving directions. Route coordinates you plan are sent to Mapbox to compute directions and drive times.
- Weather, toll, fuel, and EV-charging providers (Open-Meteo, TollGuru, Open Charge Map, fuel-prices.eu) — receive route coordinates or country codes to return forecasts, toll estimates, fuel prices, or charger locations for your trip. None of these receive your account identity.
- Vercel — hosts the application and serves every request.
- Sentry — error tracking and performance monitoring. When something breaks, Sentry receives the error, the page you were on, and a short recording of what led up to it (session replay masks page text and media by default).
We disclose data if legally required to, or to protect Routebook’s or others’ rights and safety.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and trip data for as long as your account is active. Deleting your account (Settings → Delete account) removes your trips, vehicles, budget entries, and profile from our database. Backups roll off on our provider’s standard retention schedule.
Your rights
You can export your trips at any time (Export → GPX/PDF from a trip), and delete your account and all associated data from Settings. If you’re in the EU/EEA or another jurisdiction with equivalent data protection law, you also have the right to request a copy of your data, correct it, or ask us to delete it directly — write to [CONTACT_EMAIL].
Cookies
We use only the cookies necessary to keep you signed in. Vercel Web Analytics doesn’t use cookies.
Changes
If we make a material change to this policy, we’ll update the date above and, for significant changes, notify you by email.
